Take a trip around the world with Viewfinders

October 02, 2011

Viewfinders celebrates both established and emerging filmmakers who bring a distinct directorial voice to their work. The selection covers a wide range of subjects, including a comedic prank in Kumaré; a disturbing investigation in Scenes from a Crime; an underdog football team in Undefeated; the controversy over vaccines in The Greater Good; and a fresh look at American soldiers in Flat Daddy. Viewfinders also showcases stories from around the globe, from Colombia in Ingrid Betancourt – Six Years in the Jungle, to Sierra Leone in Fambul Tok, France in Calvet and China in Bringing King to China. Also part of the Viewfinders competition is The Island President, our Spotlight Gala presentation.

The jury will honor one film as an outstanding achievement in both form and content. We hope this selection will surprise, inspire and spark debate.
