HAPPY PEOPLE: A YEAR IN THE TAIGA

Bookmark and Share

Werner Herzog in-person

As Werner Herzog demonstrated in Grizzly Man, he has a talent for reinterpreting another filmmaker’s footage. Now in Happy People, he takes on the work of Russian director Dmitry Vasyukov, following Siberian fur trappers through four seasons as they carry out traditions that have lasted for centuries. Herzog condenses the film from four hours and adds narration to turn Happy People “into a mesmerizing Walden-like ode to wilderness life”

Note – this film was originally scheduled to be in Kimmel Center but instead will be showing at the IFC Center.

This screening is sold-out.  You can line-up for the rush-line; if any tickets become available they will be released 15 min. prior to show-time.
