NYC PREMIERE For those exhausted by today’s petty tribalism, Asian American comedian Thao P. Nguyen brings a breath of fresh air as she puts together a one-woman show that echoes her evolving circumstances. The act is about understanding human identity as it continually morphs in relation to lived experience. For Thao, that’s a direct meditation on motherhood, sexuality, and cultural legacy—and for us, it’s an emotional (and often very funny) call to open our own minds about who we allow ourselves to be. - Jaie Laplante

The teenagers are children of defectors who have escaped from North Korea to South Korea, leading considerably ostracized lives. From funding an intentional community to orchestrating vandalism of weapons manufacturers and fleeing the U.S., his actions continually expose the contradictions of wealth, power and ideology. - Jaie Laplante
