Ephemeral River

11 min

WORLD PREMIERE The land becomes an eerie, captivating universe as a river swells in the Batha region of Chad. The story is straightforward, but observational filmmaking makes it feel grand: Ferries carrying people and cattle across the water become a beautiful, meditative passage through a liminal space suspended between survival and obsolescence. – Murtada Elfadl

The first screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Bentley Brown and co-director Tahir Ben Mahamat Zene.

All in-person screening venues provide sound amplification headphones upon request with venue management. IFC Center can also provide a T-Coil loop for compatible devices.
