GIVE ME THE BALL!

GIVE ME THE BALL!

The backbone of Give Me the Ball! is a major new sit-down interview with Billie Jean King, who, at 81, is both boisterous and reflective. The icon who changed both the worlds of both tennis and women’s athletics has plenty new to say about her legacy and the state of the sports world, as directors Elizabeth Wolff and Oscar-nominated Liz Garbus weave a stunning trove of archival material around BJK’s epic life story. Winner, Audience Award / Best Documentary Feature, Provincetown International Film Festival.

The first screening will be followed by a Q&A with directors Liz Garbus and Elizabeth Wolff and producers Chris James and Dan Cogan.

The epicenter of today's human-polar bear clashes in North America grew from the settlement of Churchill, Manitoba, founded in 1931 along polar bear migration routes. North of Churchill, Inuit elder Mike Tunalaaq Gibbons describes a sacred bond of respect between human and bear, and the indignities white men have imposed upon Inuit beliefs and customs. As we witness the grotesque humiliations that these majestic creatures are subjected to by human beings inconvenienced by the bears’ natural instincts, nuisance acquires a new meaning.
