Fred’s Basement Bijou

14 min

NYC PREMIERE From the outside, Fred Hermes’ home doesn’t look like much—until you enter his basement and see the replica movie palace, built around a colossal 1920s Wurlitzer organ he rescued from Detroit’s Michigan Theatre. For five decades, he restored it pipe by pipe, preserving a piece of cinema history. – DeWitt Davis

The first screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Michael T. Vollmann and producer Chris James Thompson.
