WORLD PREMIERE Margarita “Mago” Ávalos, an Indigenous Mexican woman, had no intention of becoming a workers’ rights activist; she only wanted to earn an honorable living wage. But upon discovering labor inequities, she had no choice but to fight for herself and her colleagues. An uplifting oral history of an activist finding her voice and vocation. – Murtada Elfadl
The first screening will be followed by a Q&A with director/producer Rodrigo Guevara, producer/editor Abraham Avila, and protagonist Margarita Avalos Salas.
