The Right to Forget

24 min

NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE Director Lisa Mazenauer traces her Swiss grandfather’s mining enterprise to Mobutu Sese Seko’s Zaire—but finds the family records burned and the Swiss records missing. She’s left questioning the ethics of inheritance, Switzerland’s extractivism, and the boundary between remembering and letting go, both personally and nationally. – DeWitt Davis
