A New Day Begun: The Black National Anthem

21 min

NYC PREMIERE “Lift Every Voice and Sing” is a song so beloved in the Black American community that it’s known as the Negro National Anthem—but it’s less well-known outside of it. Compelling archival footage and narration by Phylicia Rashad chronicle an important piece of American history. – Karen McMullen

The first screening will be followed by a Q&A with director/producer Keith Michael Brown.
