Annika Horne Festival Coordinator

Annika Horne is DOC NYC’s Festival Coordinator. In addition to her work at the festival, Annika is also a filmmaker and singer. Her short documentary about women in aviation, Flying in the Dark, was supported by the Austin Film Society and premiered at the Austin Film Festival. It features the stories of women veterans from the Women Airfare Service Pilots Program of World War II, General Jeanie Leavitt, the first American woman to fly combat, and Wally Funk, a candidate for the Mercury 13 Space Program. Annika’s upcoming project, about a portrait artist from World War II, has received funding from the Anne S.K. Brown Military collection at Brown University. Annika is currently working on a short documentary about a Columbia University researcher whose work is focused on early childhood development.
