Each day of the 2018 festival features two distinct, subject-themed programming tracks for DOC NYC PRO. Each programming track has its own set of panels. To reserve a spot to any panel in advance, passholders must click the title of the individual panel below and make their redemption selection.

Morning Manifestos are not ticketed and are open to all DOC NYC passholders on a first-come, first-served basis.

Jannat Gargi of Vulcan Productions gives her thoughts and advice on how best to pitch your documentary projects and discusses the role Vulcan plays in the documentary world. *Monday, Nov. 12 Morning Manifesto takes place at IFC Center. Open to all badge holders on first-come basis.

Case Study With Michele Stephenson and Joe Brewster 10:00AM – 11:10AM
Go in depth with award-winning filmmakers Michele Stephenson and Joe Brewster (American Promise) to discuss crafting exemplary short films. Moderated by Sam Pollard (Mr. Soul!)

The Heart of the Sports Doc 11:30AM – 12:40PM
Darius Clark Monroe (Black 14), Daniele Anastasion (Run Mama Run) and Adam Neuhaus (ESPN Films) discuss how their recent short films involving sports reach deep in their pursuit of universal truths. Moderated by Curtis Caesar John (The Luminal Theater).

The Future is Short 1:45PM – 2:55PM
Filmmakers, including Joanna Natasegara (The White Helmets), Sara Newens (Footprint), Kim Snyder (Newtown) and Farihah Zaman (Remote Area Medical), break down the ins and outs of working in both short and feature forms. Moderated by Susan Skoog (Montclair State University).

The New Distribution Landscape 3:15PM – 4:25PM
Hear from distributors including Chloe Gbai (POV Shorts) and Sarah Lash (Conde Nast Entertainment) about what they look for in short films, as well as filmmaker Paloma Martinez (Sanctuary City Hotline) about how she got her films widely seen. Moderated by Sam Morrill (Vimeo).
