Julie Gratz Founder, Kaleida Studios

Julie Gratz is an Emmy®-nominated animation director, producer, and motion graphics artist. She founded the award-winning production company Kaleida Studio in 2013, focusing on animation, motion graphics, and augmented reality art. Kaleida has become the preferred GFX and animation hub for Academy Award-winning directors like Alex Gibney (Jigsaw Productions) and networks such as Netflix, HBO, Discovery and CNN. Julie designed and animated the Main Titles and other select sequences for Netflix’s How To Change Your Mind (her second Emmy-nominated project) and was the lead graphics artist on The Crime of the Century (HBO), Agents of Chaos (HBO), Generation Hustle (HBO Max), and graphics artist on the Emmy®-Award winning The Forever Prisoner (HBO). Her augmented reality art has also been featured on CNBC and at CADAF Art Fair during Miami Art week 2019.
In 2022, Kaleida Studio partnered with Mighty Oak — a women and queer-owned creative studio based in Brooklyn, NY that specializes in stop motion, 2D, 3D and mixed media animation — to expand its services and be a go-to destination for non-fiction animation.
