Irene Taylor’s documentaries have been shown worldwide for the last 20 years. Her films have won multiple Emmy, Peabody, and Du-Pont Awards, and she is an Academy Award nominated Director.

Taylor’s most recent film I AM: CELINE DION debuted in theaters and on Prime Video in June. Trees And Other Entanglements was released by HBO at the end of 2023 and explores the human obsession with the arboreal world. Premiering at Sundance 2019, Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements tells Taylor’s very personal story about her deaf son, her deaf father, and Ludwig Van Beethoven, as he went deaf while composing his famous sonata.

Irene’s personal and professional experiences prompted her to start an accessibility advocacy group in 2019, The Treehouse Project. Taylor founded Vermilion Films in 2006 and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Television Academy. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
