Shellée M. Haynesworth Director, Camille A. Brown: Giant Steps

Shellée M. Haynesworth is an award-winning director, producer, and storyteller and the creative force behind Indigo Creative Works, a boutique multimedia content studio known for crafting powerful, culturally rich narratives. Her work spans arts, culture, history, and race, making her a dynamic voice in multimedia production. Shellée has collaborated with leading institutions and initiatives such as Black Entertainment Television, Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, PBS, Gates Foundation and Meta’s We the Culture. Her recent production credits include Daufuskie Island and Beyond!, a 2023 Silver Telly Award-winning project that celebrates the resilience of the Gullah Geechee community, and Fierceness Served! The ENIKAlley Coffeehouse, a documentary exploring a pivotal Black LGBTQ space in Washington, DC. Currently, Shellée is co-directing/producing Camille A. Brown: GIANT STEPS, a documentary short for Firelight Media/PBS American Masters, which showcases the pathbreaking career of the four-time, Tony-nominated choreographer for In the Making Season 3.
