Edna Alburquerque Co-producer, Drop Dead City

Edna Alburquerque has worked on award-winning documentary films for more than 15 years, including over a decade with Pangloss Films. She’s worked on projects ranging from an investigation of the international gold trade to the use of solitary confinement in U.S. prisons, to the Hubble Space Telescope.
She produced Mysteries of Mental Illness – a landmark, 4-part PBS series exploring the complex history of mental illness in science and society and giving voice to contemporary Americans across a broad spectrum of experiences.
Most recently, she produced, Nazi Town, USA, which tracks the rise and fall of the German American Bund and explores the fascist threat to America in the 1930’s. The film was the 2024 season premier for PBS’s American Experience series and is nominated for a 2025 Columbia-Dupont Award.
With Pangloss Films, she co-produced Drop Dead City: New York on the Brink in 1975, winner of the Library of Congress Lavine / Ken Burns Prize for Film and closing night film at DOCNYC 2024.
