If you could make one clear decision about your creative or professional path this year, what would it be—and what’s been getting in the way?

Independent filmmaking calls for constant decision‑making, resilience, and the ability to prioritize what truly matters. This workshop, led by skilled facilitator and DOC NYC’s Director of Industry and Education Malikkah Rollins, offers a structured pause to reflect on the past year. Participants will identify what’s working and decide where to focus their time and energy next. Through guided reflection and practical strategy exercises, participants will set clear priorities and leave with an actionable plan that supports your vision.

You’ll pinpoint the specific goals that matter most, whether strengthening your professional practice, advancing a project, stabilizing your workflow, or carving out space for creative development. The session helps you decide what needs attention now, what can wait, and what no longer serves your year ahead.

For maximum flexibility, this one-day workshop is offered with two date options: Tuesday, February 26 and Saturday, March 7. Attendance is capped at 25 to ensure a supportive, small‑group environment.

Bring a journal or notebook. We’ll provide links to a digital whiteboard tool (Miro or Padlet) for interactive exercises.

DOC NYC PRO is kicking off 2026 by offering this event at a special introductory rate as a welcome to the new year. Tickets are $50 ($40 for IFC Members) and are non-refundable. A recording will be shared with everyone who attends the session.
