Each day of the 2018 festival features two distinct, subject-themed programming tracks for DOC NYC PRO. Each programming track has its own set of panels. To reserve a spot to any panel in advance, passholders must click the title of the individual panel below and make their redemption selection.

Morning Manifestos are not ticketed and are open to all DOC NYC passholders on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fair Use Case Studies 12:15PM – 1:25PM
Scott Sholder, Mikaela Gross and Nancy Wolff from CDAS run you through case studies of fair use and what you need to know, focusing on instances of incidental capture and deliberate inclusion in documentary films. Co-presented by Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard

Dealmaking Insights: Production, Sales and Distribution Agreements, and More 2:15PM – 3:15PM
Fox Rothschild attorney Marc Simon, Scott Kaplan (Gravitas Entertainment), and Josh Braun (Submarine) provide insights into what you should know about production agreements including releases, sales and distribution agreements. Co-presented by Fox Rothschild

Licensing Music & Art 3:45PM – 4:45PM
Attorney and filmmaker Paul Szynol (Small Talk, The Pull, Quiet Hours), Janet Hicks (Artists Rights Society) and others guide you through best practices for navigating the art and music licensing landscapes. Moderated by attorney/producer Steve Holmgren.
