Co-founder, Archival Producers Alliance
Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Archival Production
Wednesday, May 1 from 12 - 1:15pm ET. Online.“It is time for the industry to establish standards in response to the new technology, so that trust with our viewers will remain unbroken,” reads the November 2023 open letter from the newly established Archival Producers Alliance (APA). Concerns are rapidly growing around how generative AI (GAI) can create audio, video, and photo-realistic images that are indistinguishable from true historical material and complicate representations of reality. In this talk, Stephanie Jenkins (co-founder of the APA and producer with Florentine Films) will discuss the value and challenges of deep-file archival research and how GAI technologies will help and challenge filmmakers in a new era of technology.
