Today at DOC NYC

DOC NYC is in full swing today with the US premiere of Ingrid Betancourt – Six Years in the Jungle, Richard Leacock’s Louisiana Story, State of the Indie Doc Panels and more!
The first full day of films also includes:
Bringing King to China, where journalist and filmmaker Kevin McKiernan turns the camera on his grown daughter as she attempts to produce a play about Martin Luther King, Jr. in China despite political and cultural clashes;
Charlotte Rampling – The Look, a retrospective of the life of the legendary actress by way of conversations with artist friends and collaborators. Rampling will attend and participate in a post-screening discussion; and
Shorts: DOC NYU at DOC NYC showcasing short works by outstanding student filmmakers.
State of the Indie Doc panels include Meet the Press, Turning Tough Topics into Great Stories, What’s Fair in Fair Use and Maximizing Revenues. Space permitting, panel discussions are free to current students with a valid ID.
