2015 VISIONARIES TRIBUTE

Already a can’t-miss event in only its second year, the 2015 DOC NYC Visionaries Tribute will gather an unprecedented group of documentary talent on Thursday, November 12 to to recognize those who perform exemplary service to the documentary form.  Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to Barbara Kopple, Frederick Wiseman and Jon Alpert. The Robert and Anne Drew Award for a mid-career filmmaker concentrating on observational cinema will be presented to Kim Longinotto (Sisters in Law and Dreamcatcher) The Leading Light Award to a mid-career professional who has shown exemplary service to documentary in a role other than filmmaking will be presented to Tom Quinn.

The 2014 event was called “…one of the most significant gatherings of documentary filmmakers in history” by Indiewire, and this year’s event promises to build upon that legacy.

“On November 12, there’ll be a gathering of documentary talent like none other.” said DOC NYC artistic director Thom Powers.
