DOC NYC PRO Summer 2024 Discounted Season Pass

Dive deeper into the world of documentary film funding with our two interactive workshops featuring a lineup of prominent funding organizations. This event is specially designed for filmmakers eager to navigate the funding landscape, uncover new opportunities, and gain real time exclusive insights from leading funding organizations.

Join us for two dynamic sessions on July 16 and July 17 where you’ll engage with representatives from Catapult Film Fund, Chicken & Egg Pictures, Kickstarter, Impact Partners, and Sundance Institute. They’ll offer valuable perspectives on the funding process, including criteria and best practices that could move the needle on your film.

Interactive element: Each representative will have one hour with the audience including an immersive “fishbowl” activity (discussion method where one pre-selected filmmaker will share a funding dilemma while others observe, fostering open conversation) and a Q&A session where attendees can pose questions directly to the funders. These intimate settings are designed for interaction and learning, not pitching, ensuring you leave with answers that help propel your project forward.

Creating an Impactful Pitch Deck

Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Archival Production

“It is time for the industry to establish standards in response to the new technology, so that trust with our viewers will remain unbroken,” reads the November 2023 open letter from the newly established Archival Producers Alliance (APA). Concerns are rapidly growing around how generative AI (GAI) can create audio, video, and photo-realistic images that are indistinguishable from true historical material and complicate representations of reality. In this talk, Stephanie Jenkins (co-founder of the APA and producer with Florentine Films) will discuss the value and challenges of deep-file archival research and how GAI technologies will help and challenge filmmakers in a new era of technology.
