Gotham Award Nominees 2013

The Gotham Independent Film Award nominees have been announced, and many DOC NYC titles are in the mix.

Three of the five documentaries nominated for ‘Best Documentary’ this year are in this year’s Short List at DOC NYC:

1. THE ACT OF KILLING (Joshua Oppenheimer)
2. THE CRASH REEL (Lucy Walker)
3. FIRST COUSIN ONCE REMOVED (Alan Berliner)

What’s more, there are six DOC NYC documentaries: five from this year, and one from last year, that are up for the Gotham Audience Award:

1. AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY: THE EVOLUTION OF GRACE LEE BOGGS (Grace Lee)
2. GIDEON’S ARMY (Dawn Porter)
3. MAGICAL UNIVERSE (Jeremy Workman)
4. THE SQUARE (Jehane Noujaim)
5. TWENTY FEET FROM STARDOM (Morgan Neville)
6. A WILL FOR THE WOODS (Amy Browne, Jeremy Kaplan, Tony Hale & Brian Wilson)
